On 19 June 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET, the 2Cool2Waste project cluster will host a dedicated webinar titled « The Future of Energy Efficiency: Practical Solutions for Heat Recovery and Electrification », organised in the framework of the European Sustainable Energy Week 2026 (EUSEW).

This online event will bring together 8 Horizon Europe projects to explore concrete solutions supporting the future of energy efficiency, industrial decarbonisation and Net Zero technologies. By gathering projects working on complementary approaches, the webinar aims to provide a clear entry point into some of the main challenges and opportunities linked to sustainable heating and cooling.

Through four thematic panels, participants will discover how innovative solutions can support both industrial and societal needs, from heat recovery and electrification to energy flexibility and clean industrial heat.

Exploring sustainable heating and cooling solutions

The webinar will be structured around four key themes:

Panel 1 – Cooling without wasting energy: can heat help us cool?
This first panel will introduce the THERMINATOR and RE-WITCH projects, focusing on innovative ways to improve cooling processes while reducing energy waste.

Panel 2 – Heat pumps: turning low-temperature heat into useful energy
The second panel will present the GEOSYN and SUSHEAT projects, highlighting the potential of heat pumps and low-temperature heat recovery to support more efficient energy systems.

Panel 3 – Energy systems working together: buildings, grids and flexibility
This panel will feature the SEEDS and SENERGY NETS projects, with a focus on the role of buildings, grids and flexibility in creating smarter and more integrated energy systems.

Panel 4 – Decarbonising industrial processes: from fossil fuels to clean industrial heat
The final panel will introduce the EEETHOS and EXQUISHEAT projects, addressing the transition from fossil-based industrial processes to cleaner and more sustainable heat solutions.

A collective contribution to the energy transition

By connecting different Horizon Europe initiatives, the 2Cool2Waste project cluster aims to highlight practical pathways towards more efficient, flexible and decarbonised energy systems. The webinar will offer participants the opportunity to better understand how research and innovation projects are contributing to the deployment of Net Zero technologies across Europe.
