At AI Energy, we are making solar planning smarter, faster, and more cost-effective. As part of the SEEDS project, we are developing SolarPlanner, an AI-powered platform that:

  • Automatically detects rooftops using aerial imagery
  • Simulates solar potential
  • Optimizes PV + battery systems based on technical and economic factors

Real-World Pilots in Denmark and Slovenia

  • Denmark: SolarPlanner helped design a PV + second-life battery system using repurposed Tesla modules, achieving nearly €12,000 in annual savings with a 10-year payback.
  • Slovenia: Optimized PV + battery systems for five gas stations, delivering tailored designs with 8–10 year paybacks based on local tariffs and conditions.

Moving Beyond Design – Towards Smart Operations

Our work in SEEDS is now shifting from planning to operation optimization. We are developing advanced control strategies that combine:

  • Localized generation and demand forecasts
  • Dynamic electricity tariffs
    Stochastic optimization methods

These techniques aim to:

-Enable end-users to actively participate in emerging flexibility and energy services markets
