Last week, our partner Sweco represented SEEDS at EnergyFest 2026, a powerful reminder of why collaborative European projects are essential to accelerate the energy transition.

Engaging with innovators, industry leaders and policymakers, Sweco contributed to forward-looking discussions on how Europe can move faster towards clean, smart and inclusive energy systems.

Shared Priorities for a Sustainable Energy Future

Throughout the day, many exchanges echoed SEEDS’ core ambitions:

  • Electrifying buildings with integrated renewable solutions
  • Valorising waste heat and local energy sources
  • Using digitalisation and AI to improve flexibility and efficiency
  • Ensuring the transition remains affordable and accessible for all

Putting Inclusiveness at the Heart of the Transition

The interdisciplinary brainstorm on Inclusive & Affordable Transition was a real highlight. It reinforced SEEDS’ commitment to developing solutions that work not only technically, but also socially and economically, especially for households that are often left behind.

Concrete case studies demonstrated how innovation, investment and courage can translate sustainability goals into tangible impact, in line with the work carried out across SEEDS’ demonstration sites in Europe.

Collaboration as a Catalyst for Change

One message stood out during the event:

“Wicked problems like the energy transition require creative solutions and intense collaboration.”

This perfectly reflects the spirit of the SEEDS consortium.

Many thanks to Gaël Boels and the Sweco team for bringing valuable field insights back to the project.

With SEEDS, we continue bridging research, industry and citizens to deliver scalable, replicable and people-centric solutions for Europe’s climate-neutral future.
